Job Description
Responsible To: Data Analytics Manager
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Probationary period: 6 months
Job Purpose
As part of the Business Intelligence & Analytics team, the Data Analyst will contribute to continue building and developing Euroleague Basketball’s analytics capabilities to enable data-driven decision-making on a league-wide perspective.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and update all existing dashboards and reports and identify and apply potential upgrades to increasingly deliver business value.
• Develop scalable and self-service dashboards and establish reporting practices to measure and optimize performance on several areas.
• Collaborate on the maintenance of a data warehouse solution and improve internal and external data collection by integrating multiple sources and building ETL processes.
• Manage Euroleague Basketball’s cloud-based analytics platform, including training users and monitoring usage to continuously streamline the service.
• Assist colleagues in gaining access to the right data and provide them with guidance conveying trustworthiness.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience using data visualization tools to build dashboards (Tableau preferred).
• Knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Knowledge of API connections and data pipelines. Understanding Google Cloud Platform logic and structure is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (mainly Excel and PowerPoint).
• Fluency in English; any other European language is a plus.
• Excellent business acumen, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Team player capable of learning and sharing knowledge.
• Strong analytical mindset with a methodical and pragmatic approach to work.
• Acute attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot apparent data discrepancies.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Proactive self-starter with a keen interest to progress within the sport business industry.
• Holds EU nationality and / or a valid residency / work permit for Spain.
Role Summary
The Data Analyst will support the execution of the analytics roadmap across the organization in an efficient and effective manner, being responsible for data collection, preparation, and storage, and their analysis, visualization, and reporting.
