Position Title: Venue Cluster Manager (Stadiums)
Reports to: Q22 COO & FIFA Project Group Leader Venue Management
Position summary
FIFA and the Qatar LOC have created a new Joint Venture which will be responsible for the operational delivery of the FIFA World Cup 2022™.

The Venue Cluster Manager  will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Venue Management project within the Host Country of the FIFA World Cup 2022, overseeing operational planning of 4 (out of 8) stadiums.

Ensure efficient delivery and high-skilled venue management to the full satisfaction of FIFA’s functional areas, internal and external stakeholders, focusing on transparency, communication, escalation, innovation, problem resolution and reporting tools.


The Venue Cluster Manager has a coordinating, facilitating, arbitrating and management role and is ultimately responsible for the event planning at the venues (4 stadiums), the preparation for operational readiness & the on-site implementation in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders. In the year 2022 the Cluster Venue Manager will became Venue Manager of 1 stadium.

Key responsibilities
  • Establish constructive communication channels between FIFA, Q22 and local authorities.
  • To integrate all relevant operational plans into an effective venue plans.
  • To assess and validate FIFA’s event requirements to the reality of the venues.
  • Assist Q22 to integrate all relevant functional areas operational plans for FIFA World Cup 2022.
  • Contribution to workshops, seminars and meetings with FIFA, Q22, Host Country and site authorities.
  • Coordination of policies, requirements and planning with FIFA, Q22, Host Country and site authorities.
  • Contribution to project management and knowledge management initiatives including event debriefs, and knowledge capture and documentation activities.
  • Co-ordination, planning and delivery of official test events.
  • Co-ordinate with all stakeholders (i.e. Host Country public authorities, public transport, police, emergency services and site authorities) in order to ensure the smooth running of each venue.
  • Plan, manage and implement a good quality and cost-efficient on-site support, service and operations for all relevant FIFA and LLC departments as well as other stakeholders (i.e. sponsors, service providers, etc.).
  • Organize and lead several venue tours.
  • Management of a venue (one stadium) during event time.
Qualifications and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in stadium operations for professional sports clubs and/or venue management in the organization of major sporting events.
  • University degree in appropriate subject (or adequate training/vocational education).
  • Knowledge of event planning and event project management processes.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects, preferably international sports events.
  • Experience in the development and integration of operational plans.
  • Team Player, willing to work to tight timelines.
  • Solution oriented.
  • Empathetic to differing points of view, but ability to remain principled and firm.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Positive attitude, patience and persistence.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle large workload efficiently at peak times.
  • Ability to work under pressure and stress.
  • Sound judgement and prioritization of tasks.
  • Fluency in English. Other languages are an added benefit.
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • International, cross-cultural work experiences preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge of local culture will be an added benefit.
