Position summary
 

FIFA and the Qatar LOC has created a new Joint Venture, which will be responsible for the operational delivery of the FIFA World Cup 2022™.

 

The Spectator Services (SPS) function mission is to make all the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ spectators feel welcomed and ensure they have all the information and assistance they need in the stadiums, to have an enjoyable and memorable experience.

 

Spectator Services (SPS) perform a wide range of services inside and around the stadiums focused on wayfinding, information, ushering, information points operation, lost & found items, restricted items storage, children registration and mobility assistance services. Spectator Services is also responsible for the consistent and high-quality approach to deliver the best spectator experience in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums™.

 

The Spectator Services Assistant Venue Manager is responsible for supporting the SPS Venue Manager for the effective and consistent planning, readiness, and successful delivery of Spectator Services operations of a stadium. He/she will assist with the operations planning and delivery of one of the largest functional areas of the FIFA World Cup stadium.

 

This position will work closely with internal service providers and public stakeholders with whom they shall interact during the planning phase, to reach a top-level operational integration.

 

Key responsibilities
 

  • Responsible for the successful planning and delivery of all Spectator Services operations and services for a specific stadium.
  • Track the Spectator Services project plan, identify risks, gaps and opportunities for efficiencies and proactively communicate the project status, issues & risks to the Spectator Services Venue Manager.
  • Oversees the resolution of the major issues of their stadium and escalate to the Spectator Services Operations Manager when appropriate.
  • Ensure the effective planning and delivery of the stadiums’ spectator areas operations by working closely with Venue Management, Security and other key functional areas.
  • Analyse the tournament workforce requirements and oversee the SPS workforce management of their stadium.
  • Ensures the effective planning and management of the SPS spaces, equipment and technology requirements in their stadium.
  • Responsible for delivering the Spectator Services operations training to SPS stadium paid staff, volunteers and contractors.
  • Works closely with the SPS Information team for the successful planning and delivery of stadium information point operations, the Lost & Found services, mobility assistance services, baby stroller storage and other services in all the stadiums, as well as all the spectator information content and materials that will be produced.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of other SPS related projects as assigned by the Spectator Services Venue Manager or the SPS central Management team.
  • Any other duties that may be required.

 

Qualifications and experience
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in relevant subject.

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in events. It would be an advantage if you have experience in spectator / event services operations – crowd management, queue management, wayfinding and information, venue security, ticket validation, ushering, access control, spectator information, lost and found items management, accessibility services and event safety.
  • Experience in developing and documenting plans.
  • Knowledge of operational and delivery elements of events.
  • Experience managing service providers as well as volunteers.
