Cultural PR & Communication Manager (H/F)

Mission

  • Develop and implement the PR & internal/external communication strategies for the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage (OFCH) and its brands
  • Manage national and international media relations, notably in the arts & culture/tourism & leisure sectors, with the goal to promote the International Olympic Committee
    (IOC) cultural action plan as well as all OFCH assets, brands and activities, in close collaboration with the IOC Communication Department
  • Raise awareness, notoriety and image of IOC and OFCH cultural initiatives within the arts & culture sector and its opinion leaders

Main responsibilities

PR & Communication strategies and action plans

  • Based on the foundation’s vision, mission and objectives for 2021-2025 and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, develop and implement the global OFCH PR & internal/external communication strategies and action plans
  • In dialogue with each OFCH Unit, develop specific PR & Communication strategies for The Olympic Museum, The Olympic Studies Centre, International cultural affairs, and Heritage collections
  • Develop a PR and communications strategy aimed at promoting and valorising OFCH’s assets, products and services towards other cultural stakeholders
  • Develop an influencer strategy targeting key people in the fields of Olympic education and culture, based on the programmes and projects implemented by the OFCH
  • Recommend action plans to implement all these strategies, propose the key success factors, identify all potential synergies within the IOC group
  • Work closely with OFCH teams to develop innovative PR & Communications strategies and action plans for specific projects or activities; provide them with tools, knowledge and know-how; oversee the implementation of the action plan in collaboration with the project managers
  • Liaise regularly with the IOC Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Department

Media Relations

  • Manage, develop and nurture media relations for the OFCH at the local, national and international levels
  • Build trusting relationships with key media, notably in the culture/tourism/leisure sectors
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day press office activities for the OFCH, The Olympic Museum and The Olympic Studies Centre
  • Ensure the drafting and production of high-quality and impeccably written materials for the press (press-releases, press kits…); plan and oversee their distribution
  • Make sure that press kits, digest and other documents as well as the Press sections in the OFCH websites are kept up to date

Influencers, opinion leaders, ambassadors

  • In collaboration with the Content Marketing Manager, identify target audiences and define the communication and distribution approach
  • Develop and manage a database of potential ambassadors who can take active part in promoting the OFCH assets, products, as well as specific projects or initiatives;
  • Find and/or create opportunities (such as events or other) to collaborate with influencers, opinion leaders or ambassadors
  • Plan and implement actions or activities aimed at raising the awareness and image of IOC’s and OFCH’s cultural actions within cultural opinion leaders
  • Promote and disseminate contents on partners’ or other specific platforms (blogs, specialized media, events and other)

OFCH Internal Communications

  • Oversee the set-up and daily running of all internal communications activities and platforms; contribute to creating and distributing content
  • Continuously find or create opportunities to keep the staff informed and engaged
  • Liaise with IOC’s Internal Communications Team to ensure a smooth and constructive information flow and collaboration

 

Education and work experience

  • Higher education qualification or equivalent (master’s/bachelor’s degree) or equivalent professional experience
  • Five to ten years’ experience in managing and implementing PR and communication strategies and editorial contents, ideally with a journalist background
  • Successful track record of working in the arts and culture fields with a strong international exposure and network
  • Demonstrated skills in building and maintaining relationships with the press
  • Proven record of outstanding written, presentation and verbal communication skills, in English and French, with a strong ability to formulate and prioritize messages in a highly political environment
  • Deep understanding of evolving communications environment and digital landscape
