The FIFA World Cup 26™ will mark the first time that the tournament features 48 teams and will be hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Reporting organizationally to the Director of Transport, the Senior Manager, Transport Integration will help serve transport efforts for the FIFA World Cup 2026 that for the first time ever, is hosting 48 teams and 1,200+ players across 3 countries and 16 venues. This role will be responsible for the successful integration of the conceptual and operational planning of FIFA World Cup 2026 Event Transport, into the Host Cities Transport integration, with specific regards to the FIFA Constituents Group transport services. Further, this role will oversee Public Transport service integration for all FIFA Constituent Groups (CG), City Transport Operations, including local area traffic management integration and planning, depot locations and setup with Host Cities, non-official sites and facilities, transport mapping, the Transport Operations Center and tournament time governance planning/integration.

 

The main responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Transport Integration for the FIFA World Cup 2026 include:

 

Part of the senior transport team ensuring full integration with all functions within Event Transport
Oversee the transport mapping requirements including the recruitment of mapping experts and implementation of required technology in close cooperation with involved FIFA26 mapping projects
Manage all transport technology and IT system requirements, including development/adaption of required software within Event Transport, in close cooperation and integration with involved FIFA26 Projects and HC
Lead the integration process between FIFA26 and HC during the development of Local Area Traffic Management Plans including the Tournament Route Network
Work closely with HC and contribute to the development of the protocol and access/egress routes for all Venues, Sites and Facilities, contribute to the corridor studies to test Tournament Route Network Operations
Work closely with HC to develop appropriate solutions and networks management plans to guarantee journey times for key FIFA Constituents
Work closely with HC and contribute to development of the appropriate public transport operational plans for all Tournament Bus/Metro/Tram systems and malls/stations/stops, taking into account FIFA26 requirements
Support HC with the schedule & route consolidation plan ensuring that these plans meet the FIFA26 requirements
Coordinate with all FIFA26 Functional Areas and transport systems to ensure plans are developed to fit with overall Transport proposals (FIFA26/HC)
Oversee the development of the Communication and Coordination processes and Transport operations centre implementation including the integration of FIFA26 Transport into other tournament transport/traffic coordination centers, as required
Lead the process of risk analysis and development of mitigation strategies
Support delivery of Transport for all test events prior to the FIFA World Cup 2026
Lead the process of information flow monitoring and managing expectations among various stakeholders for FIFA Constituents on the Tournament Route Network, Tournament Bus System and Bus/Metro/Tram Systems.
Overall responsibility to ensure tournament transport integration is functioning as per requirements and to resolve issues in a timely, efficient manner working with the involved stakeholders and HC

 

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

Our requirements:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Transport, Project management, Event Management, Major Sport events or a combination of education and experience relating to position.
Master’s Degree is an additional asset
Minimum of Ten (10) year’s Event Transport work experience, ideally within the football, sport, event or Five (5) years of experience as a Transport Infrastructure Manager, or Five (5) years equivalent/similar management position
Transport integration management experience within at least one mega project event, ideally more than one world-class sport event (e.g. FIFA World Cup and/or Olympic Games, Regional Football Tournaments, etc.).
Experience in managing transport mapping and transport technology/systems planning.
Experience in leading on event transport city operations including public transport integration, road traffic network operations and local area traffic management planning.
Experience in leading on event time transport coordination and communications processes and operations centre planning.
Experience working in multi-functional event organisations and in dynamic and fast paced environments.
Experience of leading a team and proven transport project delivery experience
Advanced knowledge of event transport operations involved in moving FIFA Constituents by vehicles, including city and tournament layouts
Advanced knowledge of event transport infrastructure requirements
Inter-cultural competency and sensitivity
High level of presentation and negotiating skills
Fluent in English. Spanish proficiency is a plus
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
