About the role

Rugby World Cup Australia is excited to offer an opportunity for a Social & Content Producer based in our Sydney office, reporting to the Senior Communications Manager. Working closely with World Rugby and key internal stakeholders, you’ll deliver high-quality, platform-native content that grows audiences, builds excitement, and supports key objectives including ticket sales, viewership and partner campaigns.

This is a hands-on, high-energy role for a creative who thrives in fast-paced, high-profile environments and is passionate about connecting with fans at scale. It’s a unique opportunity to shape the digital experience of a global sporting event and help set new benchmarks for content in sport and entertainment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Contribute to and execute the RWC 2027 content strategy in collaboration with World Rugby, ensuring all content aligns with brand, campaign objectives and key tournament milestones

Produce engaging, video-first content (short and long form) tailored to platform best practice, designed to capture attention and drive fan engagement
Develop creative concepts, write scripts and direct shoots, managing talent, crews and on-set delivery to bring ideas to life
Oversee editing and final output, ensuring all content is high-quality, on-brand and best-in-class across multiple platforms
Analyse performance data and audience insights to optimise content, drive growth and deliver commercial outcomes, including ticket sales and engagement
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and manage creators and partners to deliver integrated campaigns, key moments and partner activity

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years’ experience in social and content production, ideally within sport, entertainment or major events
Proven ability to own content end-to-end from strategy and ideation through to production, editing, publishing and optimisation
Highly skilled in video production and editing, with proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and related tools
Deep understanding of social and digital platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X and LinkedIn) and what content performs best on each
A bold, creative mindset with the ability to generate fresh, disruptive ideas that capture attention and engage audiences at scale
Strong understanding of content performance, insights and monetisation, with a focus on driving engagement and commercial outcomes
Collaborative and hands-on, with excellent stakeholder management skills and experience working with talent, creators, and cross-functional teams
Experience producing live or event-based content in fast-paced environments, with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines and create performance-driven content that achieves commercial outcomes
Proactive, adaptable and self-motivated, thriving in high-pressure environments and excited by the opportunity to be part of a major global event
