Main goal
The Digital Content Specialist supports the organisation, planning and delivery of content on UEFA’s owned digital platforms (UEFA.com and competition apps) to reach, engage and activate the largest possible audience while serving UEFA’s commercial and organisational needs.
Key responsibilities
Ensuring all text, video, photo, graphic and live content (including vertical stories) is delivered in the optimal format for each platform
Close cooperation with colleagues in the social media, video, photo and communications teams, as well as across the wider Editorial Content Services unit, to ensure consistent storytelling across platforms
Leading the implementation of SEO and growth strategies
Supporting the development of product and content innovations, including content automation, on UEFA’s digital platforms
Supporting in the implementation of future approaches to short-form video on UEFA’s owned platforms
Working daily with external editorial agencies to devise and execute tailored content plans per competition across seven languages for UEFA’s native digital platforms (UEFA.com and apps) and providing ongoing feedback
Supervising editorial operations during high-traffic periods, such as live matches and draws
Acting as the lead point of contact for editorial and commercial deliveries on-site at matches, draws, tournaments and other events as required
Providing editorial input for product design briefs as well as feedback, testing and approval throughout the development of native digital platforms (UEFA.com and apps)
Working closely with UEFA’s commercial agencies, as well as directly with sponsors, to develop and optimise partner content across UEFA’s digital platforms
Coordinating editorial-led promotional campaigns (including CRM newsletters) to serve business objectives
Continually reviewing analytics to assess content performance against agreed KPIs
Ensuring UEFA’s editorial standards and policies are fully adhered to by all external contributors
Supporting the team to prepare presentations and manuals for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
Experience:
from 4 to 6 years’ experience working and publishing content in an editorial environment, for organisations with large and passionate fan bases, preferably in sport
from 4 to 6 years’ experience planning, posting and editing content based on a digital strategy
Education:
Bachelor’s in media, communications, marketing or another related field
Languages:
Proficiency in English
Other requirements:
Good knowledge of web and app platforms and tools that support content delivery and reporting
Solid understanding of European football and the positioning of UEFA competitions
Excellent administrative, organisational and presentation skills, with an ability to prioritise, work independently and meet deadlines
Open-minded, flexible and able to deal with people effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
Willingness to work unsociable hours around live events and on matchnights as required
